Risks of child maltreatment and sexual abuse. Reflecting on research findings and controversies, Lorraine Radford addressed a meeting of Scottish Child Care and Protection Network on 27 April 2012. She posed a number of questions, including: Are children's lives getting worse? Is there any evidence that our child protection efforts over the last 30 or 40 years have been making a difference? She also considers why child protection registrations have been declining in the area of sexual abuse and what this means in relation to the experiences of children between the ages of 11 to 17.
